<br />Case # 4 <br /> <br />MEMO <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />July 7, 2006 <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />Economic Development Authority (EDA) <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />Sean Sullivan, Economic Development Coordinator <br /> <br />RE: <br /> <br />Staff Update <br /> <br />New Business Prospects: <br /> <br />Cullinan Rigging - Currently working with them on a 55.000 SF project that would be <br />locate in Gateway North Industrial Park No.5. Construction of McKinley Street and the <br />Extension of Ebony has commenced and it should be complete early Fall. <br /> <br />Minnesota Waterjet- This company is currently located in the Western Suburbs is <br />looking to relocate to the Ramsey Area. This business utilizes state of the art technology <br />that uses water to cut metals and plastics. They are looking to build 20,000 S.F. between <br />now and next summer. The City Council Approved the TIF Assistance package for this <br />project on July 11, 2006. A site plan is expected for the August Planning Commission <br />meeting. . <br /> <br />Nordvik Industries - Staff meet with the owners of Nordvik Industries regarding the <br />possible relocation of the business to another location in Ramsey. Preliminary talks went <br />well and staff is hopeful that a deal can be struck to have them build 20-30,000 SF of <br />manufacturing space in Ramsey. <br /> <br />Business Grand Openinl!s:. Slumberland had their grand opening on June 29th, It was well <br />attended by City Staff. <br /> <br />Business Communication Initiatives: The Ramsey Business Appreciation Day will be held on <br />August 15th at The Links at Northfork. The Golf will be limited to the first 36 teams that sign <br />up. The Links at Northfork has added on to its clubhouse which will now be able to better <br />accommodate the crowd this event generates. A draft Power point presentation is complete and <br />it will be reviewed at the July EDA meeting. Response to the event has been excellent and there <br />are only 7 remaining foursome available. <br /> <br />Community Revitalization Proiects <br /> <br />6030 Bunker Lake Boulevard NW: The sale of Zero-Zone is complete and negotiations have <br />resumed. Staff met with ownership of the company on July 6 and discussed the acquisition of <br />the adjacent property for future expansion. Zero-Zone has received an appraisal for the property <br />and an offer for purchase will be made on July 10, 2006. A formal case will address the sale of <br />this property. <br />
