Attachment F ORDINANCE 909 - CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNT STATE OF MINNESOTA AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 9 WHICH IS KNOWN AS ZONING AND SUBDIVISION OF LAND. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 9, SECTION 9.02 TITLED "DEFINITIONS" AND CHAPTER 9, SECTION 9.20 TITLED "ZONING DISTRICTS" AND ADDING CHAPTER 9, SECTION 9.17 TITLED "WIND ENERGY CONVERSION SYSTEMS" OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA The City of Ramsey ordains: SECTION 1. AUTHORITY This ordinance is adopted pursuant to and under the authority of the City Charter of the City of Ramsey. SECTION 2. AMENDMENT Section 9.02 of the City Code entitled Definitions is amended to include the following: Wind Energy Conversion System (WECS). Any device such as a wind charger, wind mill, or wind turbine and associated facilities that converts wind energy to electrical energy. This equipment includes any base, blade, foundation, generator, nacelle, rotor, tower, transformer, vane, wire, inverter, or other component used in.the system. WECS, Blade. A component of a WECS mounted to the rotor, causing the rotor to rotate under wind conditions. WECS, Medium -Scale. A WECS with a height between 101 feet and 200 feet tail, including the blade. WECS, Micro -Scale. A WECS mounted to an existing Structure. WECS, Small -Scale. A WECS with a height no greater than 50 feet tall, including the blade. WECS, Utility -Scale. A WECS with a height greater than 200 feet, including the blade. Section 9.20 of the City Code entitled Zoning Districts is amended to include the following: Micro -Scale WECS and Small -Scale WECS shall be permitted as a Conditional Use in the R-1 Residential, R-2 Residential, R-3 Residential, B-1 Business, B-2 Highway Business, E-1 Employment, E-2 Employment, Publie/Quasi Public, TC -1, TC -2, TC -3, and TC -5 Zoning Districts. Medium -Scale WECS shall be permitted as a Conditional Use in the B-1 Business, B-2 Highway Business, E-1 Employment, E-2. Employment, Public/Quasi Public, TC -1, TC -2, TC -3, and TC -5
