The business operation would occur between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. They are not open on weekends. City Code stipulates that a home occupation permit will not be permitted if the density and lot sizes in the surrounding neighborhood are determined to be incompatible with the proposed business operation. It is staff's opinion that the nature of proposed business operation and the size of the subject property and surrounding properties make the operation compatible with the surrounding residential neighborhood. Across the Street and further down a number of the properties are more industrial or commercial in nature. This property is already significantly screened on three sides. The property is heavily wooded and cannot be seen from the street or from adjacent properties to the North or South. Recommendation: The Planning Commission met on August 6, 2009 to hold a public hearing and recommended approval of the request for a home occupation permit to operate a septic repair and maintenance and general excavation business, on the subject property.
