Deputy City Administrator/Director of Community Development Nelson !eviewed the staff
report.

Mr. Lazan stated that their budget request should be well within $4,000 and will not exceed that
amount. He explained that the materials prepared for th~ Bass Pro Shop grand opening event
include materials put together as part of the visioning process, together with City of Ramsey
materials obtained from Economic. Development Coordinator Sullivan.

Deputy City Administrator/Director of Community Development Nelson presented a memo
regarding the broader marketing piece with respect to Ramsey Town Center. She stated the
dollar amount requested for the marketing budget is based on the recommendation of the steering
committee.

Commissioner Dehen stated it will be important to have a clear direction on what is being
marketed and to clearly define that direction, both for the City and for the consultants.
,

Commissioner Elvig explained that the steering committee felt that the project needs to be re-
branded and that the committee needed assistance with that re-branding.

Planning Manager Miller stated that in addition to the branding assistance, staff felt that some
sort of facilitation was needed with the steering committee, including assistance with evaluating
the pros and cons of changing the name of Ramsey Town Center.

Motion by Commissioner Ramsey, seconded by Commissioner Look, to establish a marketing
budget for Ramsey Town Center in the amount of $25,000.

Further Discussion: Deputy City Administrator/Director of Community Development Nelson
clarified that the Altoona, Iowa, trip for the Bass Pro Shop grand opening has been increased to
$3,500.

Commissioner Ramsey stated that he and staff feel the Altoona, Iowa, trip will cost slightly more
than the $2,500 originally budgeted, so the request is for an additional $1,000 in the budget, if
needed. He added $4,000 has also been added in the budget for Landform's contract, if needed.

City Administrator Ulrich stated that the $3,500 for the Bass Pro Shop grand opening and $4,000
for Landform would come out of the $25,000 budget.

Motion carried.
