Voting <br />No: None. <br /> <br />Case #4: <br /> <br />Consider Request for Priority Streetlights in Ramsey Town Center <br />Intersections of Civic Center Drive with Rhinestone and Sapphire Streets <br /> <br />City Engineer Himmer reviewed the staff report and noted the staff recommendation to install <br />priority streetlights at the intersection of Civic Center Drive with Rhinestone and Sapphire <br />Streets. <br /> <br />Chair Elvig stated that he agrees with the recommendation near the medical facility but isn't sure <br />ifhe is in favor ofthe one near City Hall. <br /> <br />City Engineer Himmer stated that Connexxus still owes the City one light, so one could be done <br />at no cost. <br /> <br />Motion by Chair Elvig, seconded by Councilmember McGlone to recommend to the City <br />Council that staff be directed to install a light near the medical facility at the intersection of Civic <br />Center Drive and Rhinestone for no cost from Connexus. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting <br />No: None. <br /> <br />Case #5: <br /> <br />Consider Driveway Culvert Policy <br /> <br />Assistant City Engineer Jankowski reviewed the staff report. He reviewed some aspects of the <br />old policy, and stated that he thinks the maintenance should be the homeowner's responsibility. <br /> <br />Chair Elvig stated that he agrees that the homeowner should be completely responsible for it. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dehen stated that he agreed, but if some of them need to be replaced, he asked <br />whether the City could offer them at City costs so there is some uniformity. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Olson stated that the City currently offers this program. <br /> <br />Councilmember M~Glone proposed continuously educating people on this issue because they <br />don't work with this everyday, like staff does. <br /> <br />Chair Elvig stated that he does not want to see the City getting involved in cleaning the culverts, <br />even for a fee. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE INPUT <br /> <br />Public Works Supervisor Reimer stated that they are looking for some direction on what the <br />Council expects for the maintenance of the Town Center. <br /> <br />Public Works Committee I June 16,2009 <br />Page 5 of6 <br />
