<br />Case #3: <br /> <br />Review Draft Culvert Policy <br /> <br />Assistant City Engineer Jankowski reviewed the staff report. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember McGlone, seconded by Chairperson Elvig, to recommend that the <br />City Council adopt the draft driveway culvert policy following review by the City Attorney. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Elvig and Councilmembers McGlone and Dehen. <br />Voti~g No: None. <br /> <br />Case #4: <br /> <br />Declare Pea Rock Excess Inventory <br /> <br />Public Works Street Supervisor Riemer reviewed the staff report. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dehen asked if there is any benefit in using the pea rock in large parking lots <br />just to use up the excess. <br /> <br />Councilmember McGlone stated the pea rock is not good for fill, it has limited use, and he <br />wouldn't recommend using it on any project. <br /> <br />The Committee discussed options for discarding the pea rock such as advertising it for free and <br />residents who want it could haul it away for personal usage. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dehen stated that he felt it could be used for future projects, to use it when the <br />City needed. <br /> <br />Councilmember McGlone stated the pea rock is not a good material for the process and is costing <br />more to sit in the lot. He also stated it would definitely cost more in the future if the City were to <br />use it on a project. <br /> <br />Chairperson Elvig stated he feels it would be better for residential use such as garden drainage. <br /> <br />Motion by Chairperson Elvig, seconded by Councilmember McGlone, that City Council declare <br />the pea gravel excess inventory and to recommend publishing an article in the Ramsey Resident <br />announcing the availability to Ramsey residents of pea rock for pick up at the Public Works <br />Facility. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Elvig and Councilmember McGlone. V oting No: <br />Councilmember Dehen. <br /> <br />Case #5: <br /> <br />Considerations of Concrete versus Asphalt Pavements <br /> <br />Assistant City Engineer Jankowski reviewed the staff report. <br /> <br />Councilmember Dehen asked if a comparison on life cycles was done.
