<br />Case #1: <br />at <br /> <br />Lawful Gambling Improvement Program Request - Develop Archery Range <br />Traprock Commons Park <br /> <br />Mike Nielsen, 14737 Fluorine Street NW, Ramsey presented his proposal. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Shryock seconded by Commissioner Backous to recommend that <br />. Mark Riverblood and the applicant schedule a meeting with residents who neighbor the park to <br />inform them of the program request and answer their questions. Provided there are no concerns <br />that cannot be remedied, a motion to recommend approval of up to $1,865 in Lawful Gambling <br />improvement funds to match the labor for the creation of an archery range at Traprock Commons <br />Park. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Johns, Commissioners, Backous, Barr, LaMere, Olsen <br />and Shryock. Voting No: None. Absent: Commissioner Erickson <br /> <br />Case #2: <br /> <br />Amend Park and Trail Map - Proposed Future Trail connection(s) <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner BackmlS to recommend keeping the park a trail map as is. <br /> <br />Motion failed. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Shryock, seconded by Commissioner Backous to recommend to keep <br />the east west line, butto move the line to the north in line with dead end roads. <br /> <br />Motion failed. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Barr, seconded by Commissioner LaMere to remove east west <br />segment and add a new connection. <br /> <br />Motion carried: Voting Yes: Chairperson Johns, Commissioner Barr, LaMere. Voting No: <br />Commissioner Shryock and Backous. Absent: Commissioner Erickson. <br /> <br />Commissioner Olsen left at 8:05 p.m. <br /> <br />COMMISSION/STAFF INPUT <br /> <br />Commissioner Backous wanted to mention that the District Tournament went great and <br />everything went well. The club made $6,000 and Mike Berge, City of Ramsey Parks Lead <br />Person did an exemplary job. <br /> <br />Commissioner Shryock informed that the west side trail is heaving and asked what is the average <br />life? Parks Supervisor Riverblood responded that it depends on many factors - often 15 years <br />may be considered the maximum length of time before an overlay, however in a situation like <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission/August 13, 2009 <br />, Page 2 of3 <br />
