POLICY BOARD BUSINESS

Case #1:

Water Conservation Tool Box

Environmental Coordinator Anderson presented the staff report.

The Board reviewed the format of the webpage created by Chairperson Max and discussed
content thus far.

The Board requested that Environmental Coordinator Anderson get this topic added to a future
work session agenda so that City Council has an opportunity to review the work that has been
done already and provide any pertinent feedback or direction to the Board regarding the water
conservation tool box.

The Board also requested that Environmental Coordinator Anderson touch base with the IT
department for them to review format of webpage to make sure that it will be compatible with
the city's current website.

Environmental Coordinator Anderson informed the Board that the Ramsey Rules (which
includes the Introduction and Financial Assistance pieces), Irrigation and Growing Grass in
Ramsey sections have been reviewed and edited by three of the four Board Members that
volunteered to do so.

Board Member Stodola was asked if he would like to also have a chance to review and edit and
he responded in the affirmative.

The order of reviewers was slightly revised as follows: Board Member Riley-Daniels, Board
Member Bentz, Board Member Hassett, Board Member Stodola and Board Member Enstrom.

The Board agreed that the next two sections that would be focused on would be Alternative
Landscaping and Alternative Water Sources.

BOARD/STAFF INPUT

Environmental Coordinator informed the Board that Happy Days, which will be September 19,
will include Community Garden info and a Farmers Market. If Board Members are interested or
know of anyone that may be interested in participating, they should contact Parks Supervisor
Riverblood.

Board Member Bentz inquired about the wetlands meetings and what was going to happen now.

Environmental Coordinator Anderson stated that Staff just received the final notes from the
second meeting and the next step will be to present the outcomes to City Council and seek
direction from Council on what to do with the information.

Environmental Policy Board I August 31, 2009
Page 2 of3
