Background: <br />Staff has reviewed the fleet of City vehicles and is requesting Council declare two (2) vehicles as <br />excess inventory to be sold at the auction. Unit #363 is a retired squad that has been used as a <br />back -up staff car for non - police staff. Due to staff reductions, this back -up vehicle is no longer <br />needed in the fleet. Unit #633 is a truck utilized to haul mowing equipment that was replaced in <br />the spring of 2009 as a part of the 2009 capital equipment budget. The truck was used over the <br />summer for seasonal staff, but is not needed for the winter months. Next summer, trucks that <br />will be replaced as part of the 2010 capital equipment budget will be used over the summer for <br />seasonal staff. The City currently has a fleet account with Minneapolis Auto Auction for the <br />sale of City vehicles.
