CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Work Session on Tuesday, September 22, <br />2009, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br />Members Present: Mayor Bob Ramsey <br />Councilmember John Dehen <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />Councilmember David Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Matt Look <br />Councilmember Colin McGlone <br />Councilmember Jeffrey Wise <br />Also Present: City Administrator Kurtis Ulrich <br />Deputy City Administrator Heidi A. Nelson <br />Finance Officer Diana Lund <br />Public Works Director Brian Olson <br />Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />City Attorney Bill Goodrich <br />Building Official Mick Kaehler <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Mayor Ramsey called the City Council Work Session to order at 5:30 p.m. <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br />The agenda was approved as submitted. <br />COUNCIL TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br />1) Review Level of Service for Building Inspections / Discuss Contract Inspections <br />Services <br />Deputy City Administrator Nelson reviewed the staff report to review the level of service for <br />building inspections, <br />Building Official Kaehler reported that new software would soon be available that would allow <br />inspections to be reviewed instantaneously. He confirmed that the inspector would like to <br />continue to work through the State rather than contracting directly through the City of Ramsey. <br />Councilmember Look provided positive feedback in regard to the individual inspector but also <br />felt that the decision should have been made prior to the RFP, He stated that in the interest of the <br />City Council Work Session / September 22, 2009 <br />Page 1 of 5 <br />
