<br />City Engineer Himmer stated the road needed to be widened as an MSA requirement if there was <br />to be parking on the road. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Olson stated parking was allowed on the side opposite the sidewalk so <br />gaps were not created for kids to run through.. The traffic lane would be completely visible with <br />the sidewalk. <br /> <br />Michael Lynch, 16445 Halas Circle NW, asked if anyone had thought about speed bumps. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Olson responded they were not allowed on an MSA roadway. <br /> <br />Mr. Lynch asked ifthere were any statistics as to how many people had been killed on that road <br />or had accidents and gotten hurt. He agreed sidewalks were not wanted and most people on the <br />road did not want the sidewalk, but he was in favor of the road. <br /> <br />George Cellette, 16020 St. Andrews Lane NW, asked what the exception was to the City policy. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Olson responded past practice has always been to put in sidewalks and as <br />new developments were put in, sidewalks/trails were put in. He noted higher density residential <br />had sidewalks on both sides. <br /> <br />Mayor Ramsey stated he assumed the reason for this was because it was so expensive to put a <br />sidewalk in after the fact. <br /> <br />Mr. Lynch inquired about the large trucks coming down the road. <br /> <br />Councilmember McGlone responded he had large trucks that used the roads, but empty trucks <br />were legal during road restriction times. He stated when the weigh station was open, the State <br />Patrol or County set up traps to get trucks that tried to evade the weight station. He stated it was <br />not the intention to send more trucks down Andrie Street. <br /> <br />City Engineer Himmer stated the residents told them there was more truck traffic trying to avoid <br />the weight station. <br /> <br />Resident, 15151 Andrie Street NW, asked where the snow would go when it was plowed. He <br />stated irrigation systems sometimes were not set correctly. He believed the trails in the area <br />were plenty good. <br /> <br />Gordy Martin, St. Andrews Lane NW, asked if they understood there were issues with safety and <br />parking~ He also asked if the road required parking. <br /> <br />City Engineer Himmer responded there was not a requirement for parking. <br /> <br />Mr. Martin asked if they did not allow parking, could the road be widened and a large shoulder <br />installed for walkinglbiking. <br /> <br />City Council!
