<br />NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING <br /> <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: <br /> <br />Notice is hereby given that the Ramsey City Council will hold a public 'hearing on <br />Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at 7:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers at the Ramsey <br />Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW, Ramsey, Minnesota 55303. <br /> <br />The purpose of the hearing is to consider the following ordinance amending <br />Sections in Chapters 2 and 4 of the City's Charter. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE #09-_ <br /> <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />AMENDMENT TO CHAPTERS 2 AND 4 OF THE HOME RULE CHARTER OF <br />THE CITY OF RAMSEY. TillS AMENDMENT RELATES GENERALLY TO <br />THE FILLING OF VACANCIES ON THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br />THE CITY OF RAMSEY ORDAINS. <br /> <br />SECTION 1. AUTHORITY: ' <br /> <br />This Ordinance is enacted pursuant to Minnesota Statutes ~410.12, Subd. 7. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. AMENDMENT. <br /> <br />A. Subsection 2.5 of the Home Rule Charter of the City of Ramsey is hereby <br />amended to provide as written below: <br /> <br />Section 2.5 Vacancies. A vacancy in the council, whether it be in the office of mayor <br />or councilmember, shall be deemed to exist in the case of the failure of any person elected <br />thereto to qualify, or by reason of the death, resignation in writing filed with the city <br />clerk, removal from office, non-residence in the city, conviction of a felony of any such <br />person after his/her election, or by reason of the failure of any councilmember without <br />good cause to attend council meetings for a period of three consecutive months. In each <br />such case, the council shall publicly declare by resolution, the vacancy to exist within <br />
