CASE # ~

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR CUL-DE-SAC SNOW PLOWING
By: Grant Riemer Public Works Streets Supervisor

Back ground:

During work session staff was given direction to explore the possibility of using contract labor to
perform some of the services now being performed by City staff. One of those services is the
snow plowing of two (2) of our seven (7) cul-de-sac routes. Staff is proposing this experiment
to see if there would be a budgetary savings. The RFP would be limited to local
contractors/companies that could meet our 30 minute call back requirement. The attached
"invitation for quotations form" would be mailed to local contractors as well as being posted in
the Anoka Union which is oui official paper.

Recommendation:

Staff recommends that the Public Works Committee advise Council to proceed with the
mailing/posting of the RFP for contracted plowing services.

Action:

Motion to proceed.with RFP for contracted plowing services

Reviewed by:
Director of Public Works/Principal City Engineer
Assistant City Engineer

PW: 10/20/09
