CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION

Topic Report: Water Conservation Toolbox
By: Chris Anderson, Environmental Coordinator

Background:

Over the past several months, the Environmental Policy Board (EPB) has been developing a
water conservation toolbox as an educational tool for residents. Once completed, the toolbox
will be available in the forri1 of a webpage through the city's website and will provide water
conserving tips and information that can be incorporated into everyday life. The toolbox is
intended to be a 'living document' that can be expanded with additional information in the
future. . The format of the webpage can also be used in other public outreach endeavors, such
as information on invasive species and storm water best management practices.

Prior to launching the webpage, the EPB wanted City Council to have an opportunity to
preview it and provide further direction, if any, and feedback. Members of the EPB will be at
the work session to present the webpage for City Council.

Action Statement:

Based on discussion~

CCWS: 11.17.09 ~

,2.
---
