Wage
information for each occupation is compared against the median income for the Metro Area of
$83,900. The following bullet points summarize key findings.

. Based on salary information in the 10th percentile, typically starting/early professional in-
comes in education range from about $30,230 to $38,550 and in healthcare from $20,550 to
$53,960. Together, these two industry sectors account for about 12% ofthe jobs in the
County (Table D-9). The most significant source of jobs (manufacturing) has starting/early
professional incomes that range from $24,770 to $38,560 and median incomes that range
from $40,310 to over $70,000.

· An allocation of30% ofa household's annual income for housing costs is considered to be
affordable according to national benchmarks developed by HUD. If a household pays more
than 30%, they are considered cost-burdened. Households with higher incomes generally
spend proportionally less of their incomes on housing than do those with lower incomes.

MAXFIELD RESEARCH INC.
