<br />Chairperson Look stated he did not know if he wanted to fund some of these projects at this time, <br />particularly with the state the economy is in right now. He asked if the projects were budgeted <br />for. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Olson responded there were funding sources for the majority of the <br />projects. <br /> <br />Terry Hendriksen, Ramsey Boulevard, stated, with respect to his property, absent the water <br />coming from the City street, which the City should not be discarding on this property, he had no <br />problem with drainage. He indicated this has been going on for 30 years. <br /> <br />City Administrator Ulrich stated staff had discussed Mr. Hendriksen's issue and had <br />recommended the planned improvement go forward as the City had an obligation to take care of <br />th~ stonnwater. He noted this project has been in the works for quite awhile and it was time to <br />get moving on it. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig asked if there would be an easier way to fix this problem. <br /> <br />Public Works Director Olson stated the plan would be to survey the culverts and see what <br />improvements could be done. At that time, staff would devise a plan as to what could be done <br />and discuss with the neighbors the possibility of acquiring land. <br /> <br />Chairperson Look asked when this project would commence. <br /> <br />Public Works Olson responded staff might be able to survey the area this year, but depending on <br />the weather, it might be next spring. <br /> <br />City Administrator Ulrich recommended the Committee approve the $90,000 as being the worst- <br />case scenario, but attempt to find a less expensive alternative. <br /> <br />Mr. Hendriksen stated the City's road was at risk before his bam was at risk, so he was <br />advocating for the $20,000 fix. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Wise, to recommend that the <br />City Council approve the CIP items going forward for 2010. <br /> <br />Further discussion: City Administrator Ulrich stated the public hearing to adopt the CIP <br />document would be December 8, 2009. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Look, Councilmembers Elvig and Wise.
