183 of us participated. Added to the 871
people from Pittsburgh. MEDRAD put over 1.000
of its people into their communities to serve and
support! This is the first year in their ten-year
Day of Caring experience with more than a thousand participants!
Put another way, together we contributed about 6,000 hours of work, or
more than $120.000 of value, and in fact. we outperformed expectation of the
agencies we serviced, bringing the realized value even higher.
Here in Minnesota. we served at 10 different sites. from Blaine and Coon
Rapids to downtown Minneapolis to Minnetonka. We painted and packed and
unpacked and repaired and cooked and cleaned and cleared. And set off fire
alarms. And Minneapolis beat Pittsburgh on participation rate, 84% to 72%!!
Our commitment got noticed too by the Coon Rapids Herald-we made
the front page in living color! See the photo and article in this issue.
But mostly, we did some real good at an especially needy time. and for
especially needy people.
Congratulations! We
can be pleased and
proud of what we accom-
plished together!
Marc Nevinski,
Community Develop-
ment Director for the City
of Coon Rapids said a
few words of apprecia-
tion to the employees on
Friday in the Mayor's
stead due to a time con-
fusion. Coon Rapids
Mayor, Tim Howe. did
arrive at 3:00 with a
framed proclamation he
had prepared to share
with all employees. On
the back of this issue is a
letter from the Mayor in
thanks to us for partici-
pating in a Day of Car-
ing. Here is a copy of
the Proclamation The
Mayor bestowed upon us
on that day.
