R fa <:: Ie \ VoiL.J
. \\ \ ~ 109

Mr. Steven Jankowski
Assistant City Manager
Ramsey, Minnesota
November 24, 2009

Dear Steven,

Since my wife, Erna and I will not be able to attend your meeting scheduled for
December 2, 2009, I am writing in reference to your letter regarding Improvement
Project 08-34, Bituminous Paving of 151 st Ave, 152nd Ave and Fluorine St. dated 18
November 2009.

My wife and I were present at the meeting when this project was presented to the
neighborhood in 2008. You are now stating that funding may now be available for
sometime in 2010.

While we are not opposed to the paving project, we did voice our concerns at the meeting
in 2008 as to the dollar amount that we were going to be assessed. As I stated at that
meeting, we already have an existing paved road with curb extending west from the
service road which is 19ft. wide and 80ft long. The only portion that is not paved is the
70ft. portion heading west toward the John Ewert residence. To make a long story short,
we were told that we may be assessed for the total 150ft stretch of pavement and asphalt
curbing. As we stated to you in 2008, we strongly feel that the only portion that we
should be expected to pay for is the final 70ft of roadway extending west from the
already existing 80ft. of perfectly good paved road that already exists.

Those of us that are living directly on the frontage service road are currently the only
ones that are paying for seal coating etc. on that road, yet those living west of us are using
it more than we are. We will seldom be using the projected paving project being
considered for 151 st Ave.

In short, we are willing to be assessed for the paving of the 70ft of currently unpaved
section of 151 st just north of our 15100 St. Francis Blvd residence. Thank you for your
consideration.

Sincerely.

i~~

James Sandness
