. Items stored or parked in side yards shall maintain a 15 foot setback of the edge of
parking surface (if they are parking motor vehicles) or equipment from property lines in
the side yard, If they are parking vehicles in the rear yard, this would have the same
requirement. If it is equipment, there is no surfacing requirement in the rear yard only the
side yard, so they would just have to meet the 15 foot setback.

. Items stored or parked separate from other items shall count as 1 item each; multiple
items stored or parked on a trailer, for instance, count as 1 item. (Example: 2
snowmobiles and an empty trailer on the ground are 3 items; 2 snowmobiles on a trailer
are 1 item).
Items that will count towards the number restriction include, but are not limited to, the
following examples: vehicles, RV's, campers, boats, canoes, snowmobiles, jet-skis,
A TV's, go-carts, motocross bikes, motorcycles, fish houses, and other recreational
equipment.
. Items that will not count towards the number restriction include those items typically
seen as accessory to a residential use. Examples would be lawnmowers, garden tractors
and attachments, bicycles, wheelbarrows, play structures, step ladders, and other items
used for routine home and lawn maintenance,

. Equipment, as well as motorized vehicles, will be required to be stored or parked on a
prepared parking surface in the front and side yards.

. Residents will be allowed to have one unlicensed, inoperable vehicle that may be stored
outdoors. This vehicle will not be permitted to be stored in the front yard or driveway, It
must be stored in the side or rear yard on a prepared surface and must be completely
screened from adjacent properties. It would still be subject to the public nuisance
regulations in Chapter 5,

. Vehicles or equipment for a commercial use will count towards the maximum number of
items allowed to be parked or stored outside.

. Screening requirements (for commercial vehicles) are proposed to be different for
properties within the MUSA vs. those outside the MUSA. In the non-MUSA area,
vehicles and/or equipment shall be screened to a degree of 50% at ground level view with
landscaping or other means from the public right-of-way and adjacent properties. In the
MUSA area, vehicles and/or equipment shall continue to meet the 75% screening
requirement that currently exists in code, This is done primarily by fencing or mature
landscaping already in place, Tarps are not considered screening.

. At no time shall a motor vehicle or equipment be parked such that any portion of the
motor vehicle or equipment extends into a sidewalk or trail, as these are considered
public right of ways.

. Increase in the number of items will be allowed through an administrative zoning permit
at the discretion of the Zoning Administrator if the applicant can demonstrate a higher
number of drivers, topographical issues on the lot or other practical difficulties.
