<br />ORDINANCE #10-_ <br /> <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />ST ATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />AN AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 9 WHICH IS KNOWN AS THE ZONING AND <br />SUBDIVISION OF LAND CHAPTER OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, <br />MINNESOT A. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 9.02 "DEFINITIONS" OF CHAPTER NINE <br />OF CITY CODE <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey ordains: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. AUTHORITY <br /> <br />This ordinance is adopted pursuant to and under the authority of the City Charter of the City of <br />Ramsey. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. AMENDMENTS <br /> <br />Section 9.02 (DefInitions) of City Code is hereby amended with the following definition: <br /> <br />Topsoil - Black dirt composed of unconsolidated material, largely undecomposed organic matter <br />that is a suitable foundation for vegetative growth. The composition of the topsoil shall include a <br />well balanced medium consisting of the following: <br />. A maximum sand/silt content of 30% <br />. A minimum organic content of 25% <br />. A pH between 6 and 7 <br />. Removal of all rocks in excess of 3/4" <br /> <br />SECTION 3: SUMMARY <br /> <br />The following official summary of Ordinance # 1 0-_ has been approved by the City Council of <br />the City of Ramsey as clearly informing the public of the intent and effect of the Ordinance. <br /> <br />Ordinance # 1 0-_ amends the definition of topsoil to require a minimum organic matter content <br />of twenty-five percent (25%) and a maximum allowable sand content Qfthirty percent (30%). <br /> <br />SECTION 4: EFFECTIVE DATE <br /> <br />The effective date of this ordinance is thirty (30) days after its passage and publication, subject to <br />City Charter Section 5.07, <br /> <br />Adopted by the Ramsey City Council the _ day of <br /> <br />,2010. <br />
