Case <br /> <br />APPROVE REQUEST FOR JOINT CITY/ANOKA COUNTY EXPLORATION <br />OF A SENIOR HOUSING PROJECT <br /> By: Amy Geisler, Community Development Department <br /> <br />Background: <br />In 1998, Anoka County solicited a market study of the need for senior housing in the City <br />of Ramsey; development for the Savannah Oaks senior rental project was based on this <br />study. <br /> <br />The following items are enclosed for your information: <br /> <br />a) 1998 Community Partners Market Study- Key Findings <br />b) Proposed site location map <br />c) Draft letter authorizing Anoka County HRA update 1998 study <br /> <br />Observations: <br />Anoka County HRA has again approached the City with an interest in developing <br />additional senior housing in the City, possibly in the Town Center area or near the <br />commercial node at Highway 47 and 167th Ave NW. To begin this process, Anoka <br />County HRA is proposing to update the market information contained in the 1998 study. <br /> <br />RHC Action: <br />Review and approve the attached letter authorizing the Anoka County HRA to study the <br />feasibility of developing a senior housing project in the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />Review Checklist: <br />City Administrator <br />Associate Planner <br /> <br />RHC: 3.20.03 <br /> <br /> <br />
