bo <br /> <br />All sewers, pipes, drains or conduits and openings around such pipes <br />and conduits shall be constructed to prevent the ingress and egress of <br />rodents to or from the building. <br /> <br />Interior floors or basements and other areas in contact with the soil <br />shall be rodent-proofed to prevent the entrance of rodents into the <br />structure. <br /> <br /> Subd. 16. Facilities for Storage and Disposal of Rubbish, Garbage <br />and Recyelable Materials. Every owner of a dwelling unit shall be responsible for <br />providing and maintaining facilities for the sanitary and safe storage and disposal of <br />rubbish, garbage, and recyclable materials and for arranging for the collection of this <br />material. The owner of a rental facility or unit, either directly or through the owner's <br />agent, operator, or manager, shall be responsible for supplying containers or other <br />approved methods for the common storage and collection of such materials. <br /> <br /> Subd. 17. Pests and Extermination. All structures and exterior <br />property shall be free from rodent harborage and infestation. Materials and food sources <br />for pests shall not be allowed to accumulate either inside or outside a structure in a <br />manner that attracts an infestation of pests. All openings with a diameter of one half inch <br />or more in the exterior walls, foundations, basements, cellars, ground or first floors, and <br />roofs of a structure shall be sealed or capable of being sealed in an approved manner so <br />as to not permit an infestation of pests. The occupancy of a unit shall be responsible for <br />the extermination of any infestation of pests within the unit or on the premises under the <br />immediate control of the occupant. The association shall be responsible for the <br />extermination of an infestation of pests within all common areas. For rental units, the <br />owner, either directly or through the owner's agent, operator, or manager shall be <br />responsible for the extermination of an infestation of pests within any dwelling unit and <br />within all common areas. The occupant of a single occupancy dwelling shall be <br />responsible for the extermination of an infestation of pests within the structure and on the <br />premises. <br /> <br />8.60.04 <br /> <br />Basic Safety Requirements for Interior and Exterior Maintenance <br /> <br />Subd. 1. Kitchen Facilities. Kitchen facilities in every dwelling <br />unit shall be maintained in the following manner: <br /> <br />A kitchen sink shall be in good working condition and properly <br />connected to an approved water supply system which provides at all <br />times heated and unheated running water under pressure, and which <br />is connected to an approved sewer system. <br /> <br />Cabinets and/or shelves and counters or tables shall be of sound <br />construction furnished with surfaces that are easily cleaned ..... and <br />that will not impart any toxic or deleterious effect i~n food. <br /> <br /> <br />
