ORDII~ANCE ~/O3-31 <br /> <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> ' STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> AN AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 9 <br />WHICH IS KNOWN AS THE ZONING <br />AND SUBDIVISION OF LAND CHAPTER <br />OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, MIN- <br />NESOTA. <br /> AN ORDINANCE.AMENDING SEC- <br />TION 9.12 "SIGNS" OF CHAPTER 9 OF <br />THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, MINNESO- <br />TA. <br /> The City of Ramsey ordains: <br /> SECTION 1. SUMMARY <br /> The following official summary of <br />Ordinance #03-31 has been approved by <br />the City Council of the City of Ramsey as <br />clearly informing the public of the intent <br />and effect of the Ordinance. <br /> It is the intent and effect of <br />Ordinance #03-31 to amend Ramsey <br />City Code Chapter 9 (Zoning and <br />Subdivision of Land), Subsection 9/12 <br />(Signs) to include a definition and prohi- <br />bition of offsite 'advertising devices', to <br />allow for the use of portable signs and <br />balloons for up to 30 days surrounding a <br />public event or grand opening, to <br />increase the frequency of permitted <br />portable signs from 3 to 6 times a year, <br />to increase the number of portable signs <br />allowe, d on multi-tenant sites from 1 to 2 <br />sign{ at any given time, eliminating the <br />requirement that at least 50% of the wall <br />sign space allowed be placed 'on the <br />front wall of the business, to increase the <br />size restriction on menu boards to .50 <br />square feet, eliminate current regulations <br />for shopping center signs, to establish <br />wall sign regulations for multi-tenant <br />buildings in industrial regulations, clarify <br />the regulations for business or industrial <br />park identification signs and increase the <br />size restriction to 200 square feet, to <br />increase the size of ground signs for. <br />occupants of an industrial or commercial <br />park to 100 square reel, allow for the use <br />of portable signs, with a permit but no <br />fee, during public eve. nB or grand open- <br />ings, require a permit but no fee for on- <br />site directional and informational signs, <br />reducing the time frame to correct sign <br />violations from 30 days to $ days. <br /> SECTION 2.
