1. Trees shall be planted a minimum of 15 feet from hydrants. <br /> <br />i. Vision Clearance (sight triangle) <br /> <br />1. Trees shall be located 35 feet or more from the back of curb of any <br /> adjoining street <br /> <br />j. Planting Distance from Utilities <br /> <br />1. Trees shall be planted a minimum of 2 feet from any joint utility trench <br /> whenever practicable. <br /> <br />k. Tree Preservation Tree Density Standard Calculation <br /> <br />1. All multi-family residential developments shall retain forty percent (40%) <br /> of the inches of tree DBH existing on the lot after subdivision. <br /> <br />If trees in excess of sixty percent (60%) are removed from the plat due to <br />construction, they shall be replaced on a basis consistent with the tree <br />cover requirements as outlined in the applicable multi-family residential <br />zoning district. <br /> <br /> Subd. 9. Replacement of Trees. Developers shall be required to maintain <br />trees for one (1) year after the trees are planted. Should any tree require replacement during this <br />one (1) year period, the replacement period shall start at the date of replacement. Except as <br />provided herein, the replacement period shall not extend beyond two (2) years from the original <br />planting date. <br /> <br />The developer shall contact the City for a final inspection to be made at the <br />end of the replacement period. All trees not exhibiting a healthy, vigorous <br />growing condition, as determined by the City inspection, shall be replaced at <br />the expense of the developer. <br /> <br />9.24.05 Hazardous and/or Nuisance Trees. The City shall have the fight to cause the <br />removal of any dead or diseased trees on private property within the City, when such trees <br />constitute a hazard to life and property, or harbor insects or disease which constitute a potential <br />threat to other trees within the city. In the event of failure of owners to comply with such <br />provisions, the City shall have the authority to remove such trees and charge the cost of removal <br />to the property owner. <br /> <br /> Subd. 1. Notice to Take Action. An order for a "Notice to Take Action" <br />will be issued upon determination by the City, or its designee, that maintenance work requiring <br />the pruning, preservation, or removal of trees or plants upon private property when such action is <br />necessary to insure public safety and/or to prevent the spread of disease or insects to public trees <br />and places. <br /> <br /> <br />
