FC/CC# l'' ~ ~~ <br />AUTHORIZE CONTRACT WITH INTEREUM FOR RELOCATION OF FURNITURE <br />SYSTEMS TO ACCOMMODATE LEASE OF OFFICE SPACE IN THE RAMSEY MUNICIPAL <br />CENTER <br />B: Jessica L. Hendricks, Management Intern <br />Background: <br />In preparation for the lease of office space in the Ramsey Municipal Center to the Anoka County License <br />Center, staff has been working with Intereum for furniture design services. <br />Intereum has been meeting with staff to assess needs and furniture reconfiguration. As a result of these <br />meetings, Intereum has created plans for relocation of the Community Development and Finance <br />Departments. Community Development will be relocated to the east end of the Municipal Center, sharing <br />space with the Building and Fire Departments. Finance will be moved to the second floor, joining what is <br />now the Engineering Department's area. <br />Intereum has prepared a quote for the relocation of systems furniture. The estimate for relocation totals <br />$6,736. The quote is attached for Council review. City staff will be responsible for the tear down of the <br />existing systems furniture in Finance and Planning, which will then be reassembled by Intereum to create <br />the new spaces. City, staff will begin to break down existing furniture on February 20, 2010 and the move <br />is anticipated to be complete on February 23, 2010. <br />Funding Source: <br />Funding for the purchase and relocation of systems furniture would be funded from the funds left in the <br />Municipal Center Construction Fund, which has a balance of $29,933. <br />Recommendation: <br />Authorize contract with Intereum for relocation of systems furniture to accommodate the lease of space to <br />the Anoka County License Center. <br />Council Action: <br />Motion by City Council to adopt resolution 10-02-_ authorizing staff to enter into a contract with <br />Intereum. <br />Attachments: <br />Intereum relocation services proposal <br />Reviewed by: <br />City Administrator <br />Deputy City Administrator/Director of Community Development <br />Finance Officer <br />CC: 02/09/2010 <br />
