V oting Yes: Mayor Ramsey, Councilmembers Jeffrey, Elvig, Dehen, Look, <br />McGlone, and Wise. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />6. PUBLIC HEARING <br /> <br />There were no Public Hearings. <br /> <br />7. COUNCIL BUSINESS <br /> <br />7.01: Request for Conditional Use Permit for a Private Dog Kennel to Maintain Four or <br />More Dogs at 15916 St. Francis Blvd NW; Case of Michael Buckman <br /> <br />Management Intern Hendricks reviewed the staff report. <br /> <br />. Councilmember McGlone noted he had attended the Planning Commission meeting and there <br />were -four neighbors who had expressed concern and the appropriate changes were made. He <br />indicated the applicant had addressed all of the issues that were brought forward. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember McGlone, seconded by Councilmember Wise, to adopt Resolution <br />#10-01-030 adopting the Findings of Fact #0860 relating to the Applicant's request for a <br />conditional use permit for a private dog kennel for six (6) dogs at 15916 St. Francis Blvd NW. <br /> <br />Further discussion: Councilmember Dehen expressed concern about too many animals on the <br />property. He asked if there were provisions if there were dog bites, etc. He asked what the City <br />could do if there were problems. City Attorney Goodrich responded as with any Conditional Use <br />Permit if there were complaints, a public hearing would be held and the Council could revoke the <br />Permit or revise the conditions. He indicated if there were a dangerous dog situation, State <br />Statutes would be followed. Michael Buckman, applicant, 15916 St. Francis Boulevard <br />presented himself for questions. Councilmember Dehen asked if the dogs would be behind the <br />fence at all times. Mr. Buckman responded the dogs would be behind the fence at all times. <br />Councilmember Elvig expressed concern that these large dogs could jump the fence. He <br />indicated in this instance he would not object to the motion because Mr. Buckman was a <br /> <br />City Council / January 26, 2010 <br />Page 4 of 10 <br />
