Metropolitan Council January 28, 2010 Ms. Amber Miller Planning Director City of Ramsey 7550 Sunwood Drive NW Ramsey, Minnesota 55303 -5137 RE: City of Ramsey 2030 Comprehensive Plan Update - Metropolitan Council Action Metropolitan Council Review File No. 20652 -1 Metropolitan Council District 9 Dear Ms. Miller: The Metropolitan Council reviewed the City of Ramsey's Comprehensive Plan Update (Update) at its meeting on January 27, 2010. The Council based its review on the staff's report and analysis (see attached). The Council found that the City's Update meets all Metropolitan Land Planning Act requirements, conforms to the regional system plans including transportation, aviation, water resources management and parks, is consistent with the 2030 Regional Development Framework, and is compatible with the plans of adjacent jurisdictions. In addition to the Advisory Comments and Review Record, the Council ado_ pted the following recommendations: 1. Authorize the City of Ramsey to put its 2030 Comprehensive Plan Update into effect. 2. Accept the revised forecasts identified in the Review Record. 3. Advise the City to: a. Implement the advisory comments noted in the Review Record for Land Use, Water Supply and Plan Implementation. 4. Approve the City of Ramsey's Tier II Comprehensive Sewer Plan. Please consult the attached staff report for important information about the City's next steps. Of particular importance are the Council's actions, listed on page 1, general Advisory Comments listed on page 3, and the specific comments for technical review areas, which are found in the body of the report.
