Miller, Planning Manager <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />In December, the Planning Coinmission recommended approval of the off-street parking <br />ordinance and in January that ordinance was approved by the City CounciL As you may recall, <br />upon approval of the ordinance, staff would draft new. definitions toc1arify some of the off street <br />parking items to help ease enforcement and clear up any conflicts due to the new code. <br /> <br />Notification: . <br /> <br />In accordance with State Statute andCity Code, the March 4,2010 public hearing notice for the <br />mos~.recent v~rsion of the proposed ordinance was published in the.City's official newspaper. <br /> <br />Analysis: <br /> <br />, . <br />, . . <br />With the changes to the off-street parking section of the CitY Code, staff needed to clarify some <br />definitions. Most notably the screening requirements needed to be updated to reflect the two . <br />standards now included in the Code. Staff also added a definition of Parking Pad and redefmed . <br />Driveway, Commercial Vehicle and Commercial Equipment. City Council requested <br />specifically that wf? look at the defmitionS of commercial vehicle and commercial equipment to <br />make ce~ they are more understandable to the residents. Attached is the proposed ordinance <br />with amendments. Additions are indicated as underlined; deletioIls are indicated as a <br />strikethrough. <br /> <br />Funding: <br /> <br />Amendments to City Code are handled through normal staff duties. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />.
