App. <br />337,2009 WL 4348678 (2009) . <br /> <br />CONNECTICUT (12/08/09)---This case addressed the issue of <br />whether a corporation formed to advocate for zoning policy in a town <br />has standing (i.e., the legal right) to appeal the denial of its application <br />to ~mend town zoning regulations. . <br />The BackgroundIF~cts: Concerned Citizens for the Preservation of <br />Watertown, Inc. (the "CCPW") is a Connecticut corpol:ation. It was <br />formed by private property' owners and businesses to advocate for <br />zoning policy in the town. CCPW opposed the construction of a "big <br />box" retail development. In an. attempt to. curtail that development, <br />the CCPW filed with the town's planning and zoning commission (the <br />"PZC") a petition to amend the town's zoningregulations (the "Peti- <br />tion").
