This closure has been a significant improvement in our daily lives -I say this with no exageration. It truly has been such an improvement for us and our neighborhood. Just our family has 3 small children and we feel that it is so much safer, not just backing out of our driveway, but actually allowing our children to play in the front yard. Prior to the closure it was a rare occassion we would play outside due to the volume, and speed of traffic rushing by our yard. My son finally was able to learn to ride his bike without training wheels! We would have never done that before -for fear of any one of us getting hit by a car /truck that did not live in our neighborhood. I feel like I actually have a neighborhood now -and not a thouroughfare. We are able to socialize with our neighbors and our children are safe - everyone's children in our neighborhood!!!! We would love to see this closure remain in effect- forever. Thank you so much for doing it this past year and we hope it continues. • Thanks so much for your time, and I truly hope the city considers the resident's opinions that live on this street. There are too many small children that live on this street- please consider their safety, as well as the adults that are now able to walk without fear of being hit also. The amount of garbage left on the street is also null now that traffic has decreased significantly.
