CONSIDER CONTRACT EXTENSION FOR THE RAMSEY STAR EXPRESS <br />By: Brian E. Olson, Director of Public Works/ Principal City Engineer <br />Background: <br />The City of Ramsey has successfully operated the Ramsey Star Express Commuter <br />Coach service since January 2007. A graph for Average Daily Trips and cost information <br />was provided at the work session earlier this evening. <br />The City of Ramsey was given the option to continue the Ramsey Star Express service on <br />5 separate six month extensions starting in March of 2009. The City Council exercised its <br />first 2 six month extensions in February and September of 2009 respectively. <br />Funding Source: <br />The funding source for the Ramsey Star Express is the Landfill Trust Fund. <br />Council Action: <br />Motion authorizing staff to enter into a third 6 month contract extension (April 1, 2010 - <br />September 30, 2010) with First Transit for the operation of the Ramsey Star Express. <br />Reviewed by: <br />City Administrator: <br />CC: 03/09/10 <br />CASE # 117 o5 <br />
