Upon the request of the receiving unit, the <br />sending unit shall authorize and direct such <br />personnel, equipment, and supplies as, in its <br />discretion, are available to go to the assistance <br />of the receiving unit. <br />iii. The sending unit reserves the right to retain <br />for its own use such equipment, personnel, and <br />supplies as, in its discretion may be necessary <br />for its proper and adequate protection; and in case <br />of an emergency arising within the sending unit <br />while the equipment, personnel and supplies of <br />that city are engaged in the receiving unit, the <br />sending unit may, in its discretion, recall such <br />equipment, personnel, and supplies necesspry to <br />meet such emergency. <br />iv. The sending unit maintains the ultimate <br />control over the individuals dispatched as set <br />forth above, but the on-site direction shall be <br />under the control of the individual who has been <br />designated by the receiving unit as being in <br />control of police functions over the situation. <br />3. Expenses. <br />The sending unit shall be responsible for its own <br />personnel, equipment, and supplies, including the 'payment <br />of its personnel, and the receiving unit shall not be held <br />liable for any injuries to personnel or damage to equipment <br />of the sending unit, nor shall the receiving unit be <br />required to reimburse the sending unit for supplies expended, <br />used or damaged while so engaged, except that equipment and <br />supplies shall be returned to the sending unit upon the return <br />of the employees of the sending unit. Each governmental unit <br />shall be responsible for the actions of its own personnel. <br />4. Limitation. <br />In case weather, road conditions or other circumstances <br />are such that, in the discretion of the sending unit, equip- <br />ment, personnel, and supplies cannot be furnished to the <br />receiving unit with reasonable safety, the sending unit may, <br />-3- <br />
