The President is expected to sign the bill.

The final version of the legislation retains the basic provisions of the
previous law which expired on September 30, 1980. The bill extends local
revenue sharing at its existing level of $4.6 billion on an entitlement basis
for three years. States are authorized to receive $2.6 billion during fiscal
years 1982 and 1983, subject to the normal appropriations process.

I have contacted the Office of Revenue Sharing and have been assured
that the regular payments for January 1981 will continue as scheduled.
Should you require any assistance or have any further questions, please feel
free to contact my office~

With best wishes.

.

Sincerely,

nMv~~

~-;L.
