Councilmember Look introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #09-07-157 <br />RESOLUTION ADOPTING A POLICY REGARDING CITY COUNCIL ACCESS TO <br />PERSONNEL DATE <br />WHEREAS, the City Code grants authority to the city administrator to address all <br />personnel matters and to make recommendations to the City Council regarding hiring and <br />terminating employees; and <br />WHEREAS, at the June 23, 2009 Personnel Committee meeting, committee members <br />expressed a desire to be notified of certain sensitive personnel matters such as those that might <br />result in a suspension or arrest. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) That the Ramsey City Council hereby adopts the following policy language for inclusion <br />in the City's Administrative Policies Manual: <br />Upon action by the City Administrator or his designee in regard to sensitive personnel <br />matters, such as suspensions or arrests that could have a significant impact on the <br />organization, the City Administrator will provide the full City Council with a confidential <br />written explanation of the situation and the final disposition of any disciplinary action. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Wise, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Mayor Ramsey <br />Councilmember Look <br />Councilmember Wise <br />Councilmember Dehen <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember Jeffrey <br />Councilmember McGlone <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />None <br />and the following abstained: <br />None <br />
