Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION # <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING STAFF TO ISSUE AN RFP <br />FOR AN AGENT OF RECORD FOR HEALTH AND <br />DENTAL INSURANCE AND COBRA ADMINISTRATION <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey is committed to providing a superior benefits <br />package to its employees; and <br />WHEREAS, well- designed and competitively priced benefits are essential to <br />effectively compete for and retain quality employees; and <br />WHEREAS, an agent of record is responsible for advising and assisting the City <br />in encouraging consumerism and designing health programs; advising and assisting the <br />City in controlling health care costs and evaluating plan design options; advising the City <br />on potential gaps or overlaps in coverage's, and negotiating with carriers on the City's <br />behalf. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />That the City Council of the City of Ramsey authorizes staff to issue an RFP for <br />agent/broker services for health and dental insurance and COBRA administration. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by <br />Councilmember, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor <br />thereof: <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />and the following abstained: <br />and the following were absent: <br />Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City <br />Council this the 23 rd day of March, 2010. <br />
