Attachment C ORDINANCE #10- CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA AN AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 117 WHICH IS KNOWN AS THE ZONING AND SUBDIVISION OF LAND CHAPTER OF THE CITY CODE OF RAMSEY, MINNESOTA. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 117 -614 (SUBDIVISION DESIGN STANDARDS) OF THE RAMSEY CITY CODE. The City of Ramsey ordains: SECTION 1 AUTHORITY This ordinance is adopted pursuant to and under the authority of the City Charter of the City of Ramsey. SECTION 2 AMEND Section 117 -614 of the Ramsey City Code is amended to include the following text (additions indicated as underlined text): 117- 614(d) Public utilities (1) Sanitary sewers and water facilities shall be installed in accordance with the standards and specifications as required by the council and subject to the approval of the city engineer. All Duplex Dwellings Single- Family Dwellings, Townhouse Dwellings, Twinhome /Quad Dwellings, as defined by City Code, shall be required to have individual sanitary sewer and water. When fire suppression systems are required by applicable law, each unit shall be individually serviced by a separate fire suppression system. Joint facilities are strictly prohibited in these types of dwelling units. For lots subdivided prior to and approved for such joint services, these joint services shall be reviewed at the time of Building Permit issuance and required to incorporate a design that would minimize the potential for frozen water lines and fire suppression systems. Multiple (apartment or condominium ) Dwellings are exempt from the joint service restriction. (10) Duplex, Townhouse, Twinhome, and Quad Dwellings designed for separate ownership of individual dwelling units shall be required to subdivide each unit separately through the City's subdivision ordinance. Dwellings subdivided vertically, or stacked, are exempt from this provision. SECTION 3 SUMMARY The following official summary of Ordinance #10 - has been approved by the City Council of the City of Ramsey as clearly informing the public of the intent and effect of the Ordinance.
