Councilmember Dehen introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #10-02-048 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING A TITLE CHANGE FROM ADMINISTRATIVE <br />SERGEANT TO LIEUTENANT <br />WHE~2EAS, Sergeant Jeff Katers is one of five Sergeants in the Police Department and <br />currently serves as third in command; and <br />WHEREAS, Sergeant Katers has served as the decision maker within the Department in <br />the absence of the Chief of Police and the Captain; and <br />WHEREAS, staff has proposed a title change that will clearly illustrate the chain of <br />command by showing that Sergeant Katers' position is higher in the chain of command than the <br />Patrol Sergeant job classification. <br />NOW; THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />That the City Council of the City of Ramsey confirms the recommendation of staff and <br />the Personnel Committee Staff to change Sergeant Katers' title from Administrative <br />Sergeant to Lieutenant, effective February 10, 2010. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Elvig, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Mayor Ramsey <br />Councilmember Dehen <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember Jeffrey <br />Councilmember Look <br />Councilmember Wise <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />None <br />and the following abstained: <br />None <br />and the following were absent: <br />Councilmember McGlone <br />
