Background: <br />UPDATE ON THE 2010 RAMSY BUSINESS EXPO <br />By: Jessica L. Hendricks, Management Intern <br />At the January 14' 2010 meeting, the EDA authorized staff to begin planning for the 2010 <br />Business Expo. Staff has prepared an update for the EDA to review. <br />Discussion: <br />Invitations were mailed to all Ramsey businesses on February 26, 2010. <br />- As of March 31, staff has been contacted by 33 interested businesses. The deadline for <br />registration is April 9. Staff will be contacting past participants to see if they are interested <br />in participating this year. We have 50 booth spaces available, although some late registrants <br />may need to provide their own tables as PACT has a limited number available. <br />- Articles have been placed in the Ramsey Resident and Anoka Chamber newsletter. The <br />May /June issue of the Resident will be in homes the last week of April, so staff has created a <br />reminder article. Flyers have also been placed in utility bills, which will be in homes the 3rd <br />week of April. Staff has also created a press release for the Anoka County Union. <br />A postcard reminder will go out to all Ramsey residents and businesses the 2" week of <br />April. <br />- Village Bank and Coborn's are being contacted to see if they are willing to advertise the <br />event on their marquee displays. <br />Temporary signs for the event will be ordered this month, and the updated banners will be <br />hung on the parking ramp two weeks before the event. <br />Funding Source: <br />The revenues and expenditures summary has been attached for EDA review. <br />Staff Recommendation: <br />None <br />EDA Action: <br />Based on discussion <br />Attachments: <br />Business Registration List <br />Business Expo Revenues and Expenditures. <br />Reviewed by: <br />Deputy City Administrator/Director of Community Develop <br />EDA: 04/08/2010 <br />Case # 2 <br />
