CASE # CONSIDER EXTENSION TO THE INTERIM DEVELOPMENT MANAGEMENT CONTRACT By: Heidi A. Nelson, Deputy City Administrator/Director of Community Development BACKGROUND: At its March 16, 2010 meeting, the HRA authorized the contract for Development Management Services with the Landform Development Management Team. Since that time, staff and the city attorney have been negotiating the details of the contract within the structure that was approved. The contract is anticipated to be finalized by the end of the week - Apri19, 2010. With the negotiations on the contract, the starting date of the contract was shifted forward to April 1, 2010 instead of the March 1, 2010 start date that was reflected in the draft as presented at the March 16th meeting. The minutes from the March 16, 2010 HRA meeting are attached. Darren Lazan has continued to provide interim Development Management Services during the period of time between the last approval of the Interim Development Services contract and the date of the new contract that will commence retroactively to April 1, 2010. Staff is requesting that the HRA extend the Interim Development Management Services Contract from its last approval date of January 19, 2010, which extended the interim contract to February 28, 2010 to March 31, 2010. The Interim Contract is attached for Council information. STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends authorizing the extension of the Interim Development Management Contract with Landform in the amount of NTE $15,000 per month for the period of February 28, 2010 to March 31, 2010. HRA ACTION: Authorize extension of the Interim Development Management Contract with Landform in the amount of NTE $15,000 per month for the period of February 28, 2010 to March 31, 2010.
