Background:
On January 12, 2010 the Council authorized IP 08 -34, the Bituminous Paving of 151 Avenue,
152 " Avenue and Fluorine Street in Section 24. It will be necessary to obtained three parcels from two separate
property owners. Sketches of the connection area and the parcels to be acquired are attached to
this case.
Staff met with Mr. and Mrs. Pehlke, the owners of two of the three properties to be obtained and
identified the alignment necessary for the connection. Mrs. Pehlke also represents the interests of
the third property owner, Mr. Simonson, who is her brother -in -law. Appraisals are being
prepared by Mackenzie Metro Appraisal as this case is being written and are anticipated to be
available at the Council meeting.
Recommendation:
Staff recommends that it be authorized to submit offers in an amount to be determined from the
appraisals and Council direction.
Action:
AUTHORIZE OFFERS FOR PURCHASE OF PROPERTIES NECESSARY FOR
EXTENSION OF 152 AVENUE TO HELIUM STREET
By: Steven Jankowski, Assistant City Engineer
CASE # 1,10
Motion to adopt resolution authorizing offers to be made for parcels required for the extension of
152 " Avenue to Helium Street.
Reviewed By:
City Administrator
Director of Public Works/Principal City Engineer
City Engineer
Public Works Street Supervisor
City Attorney
CC: 04/13/10
