LOWER RUM RIVER WATERSHED MANAGEMENT ORGANIZATION <br />MARCH 15, 1989 <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Chairman Jim Schrantz called the meeting to order at <br />8:45 a.m. in the Committee Room of Anoka City Hall. <br />ROLL CALL <br />Members present included Chairman Jim Schrantz, Pete <br />Raatikka, and John Weaver. Tom Mathisen was absent. <br />FEBRUARY MINUTES <br />A motion was made by Weaver, seconded by Raatikka, to <br />approve the February 15, 1989, meeting minutes as printed. <br />All voted yes. Motion carried. <br />TREASURER'S REPORT <br />None. Treasurer Mathisen was absent. <br />PAYMENT OF BILLS <br />None presented. <br />REPORT OF OFFICERS <br />Vice - Chairman Raatikka and Secretary Weaver had nothing <br />to report. <br />CONSIDERATION OF COMMUNICATIONS <br />Schrantz reported receiving a March 3, 1989, letter from <br />Anoka County Commissioner Natalie Haas - Steffen relating to a <br />proposed rejuvenation of the Rum River through the Minnesota <br />Clean Rivers Project. Raatikka felt that a copy of this <br />letter was sent to all area municipalities for their <br />information, in that the City of Ramsey also received one. <br />Schrantz was also in possession of a document entitled <br />"Precipitation Frequency Analysis for the Twin Cities Metro- <br />politan Area ", received from Marcel Jouseau, Division <br />Manager, Natural Resources, Metropolitan Council, St. Paul, <br />Minnesota, along with a corresponding cover letter. <br />Upon a brief discussion of the recent Andover and Ramsey <br />public hearings on the proposed Rum River Minimum Wake <br />Ordinance, Weaver requested a copy of those minutes to <br />reference prior to Anoka's upcoming March 20, 1989, public <br />hearing. <br />
