LOWER RUM RIVER WATERSHED MANAGEMENT ORGANIZATION
MARCH 15, 1989
CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Jim Schrantz called the meeting to order at
8:45 a.m. in the Committee Room of Anoka City Hall.
ROLL CALL
Members present included Chairman Jim Schrantz, Pete
Raatikka, and John Weaver. Tom Mathisen was absent.
FEBRUARY MINUTES
A motion was made by Weaver, seconded by Raatikka, to
approve the February 15, 1989, meeting minutes as printed.
All voted yes. Motion carried.
TREASURER'S REPORT
None. Treasurer Mathisen was absent.
PAYMENT OF BILLS
None presented.
REPORT OF OFFICERS
Vice - Chairman Raatikka and Secretary Weaver had nothing
to report.
CONSIDERATION OF COMMUNICATIONS
Schrantz reported receiving a March 3, 1989, letter from
Anoka County Commissioner Natalie Haas - Steffen relating to a
proposed rejuvenation of the Rum River through the Minnesota
Clean Rivers Project. Raatikka felt that a copy of this
letter was sent to all area municipalities for their
information, in that the City of Ramsey also received one.
Schrantz was also in possession of a document entitled
"Precipitation Frequency Analysis for the Twin Cities Metro-
politan Area ", received from Marcel Jouseau, Division
Manager, Natural Resources, Metropolitan Council, St. Paul,
Minnesota, along with a corresponding cover letter.
Upon a brief discussion of the recent Andover and Ramsey
public hearings on the proposed Rum River Minimum Wake
Ordinance, Weaver requested a copy of those minutes to
reference prior to Anoka's upcoming March 20, 1989, public
hearing.
