She stated recent
discussions with Tony Brough, SWCD, resulted in the
information that while those readings were taken wherever
possible, at a cost to the LRRWMO of $35.00 per lake, the
seechi disk reading results were being reported directly to
the Pollution Control Agency and would not be a part of the
information provided to the LRRWMO from the SWCD. Mikkonen
indicated she requested that Mr. Brough contact Chairman
Schrantz and explain the situation.
Schrantz indicated he did speak with Mr. Brough who indicated
the SWCD will refund the LRRWMO its $35.00 because no one
took the seechi disk reading. Mr. Brough will wait a couple
of weeks before refunding this money to see if the resident
will agree to take the readings.
Schrantz directed that this matter be placed on the October
regular meeting agenda.
MISCELLANEOUS
Mikkonen provided the board with a draft proposal of a
Consulting Engineering contract merely in an effort to get
something on paper. Mikkonen also reported contacting the
Minnesota Department of Natural Resources who agreed to
provide the LRRWMO with a list of potential consulting
engineering firms knowledgeable in the area of water manage-
ment from which the board might wish to solicit contract
bids. The members indicated this matter will be considered
at a future meeting.
