Ms. Miller noted the background <br />information included in Council's packet and introduced Jamie Thelen. <br />Mr. Thelen talked about what Sand Companies is looking for and presented information on <br />projects they have done in other cities. Mr. Thelen stated that the corner of Round Lake <br />Boulevard and Ramsey Boulevard and the azea directly south of the K Hovnanian development <br />as well as to the west of the K Hovnanian development would work. He suggested that <br />walkability is the key for this type of development. <br />Commissioner Elvig commented that Sand Companies has a great reputation and he feels the <br />City would be excited to work with them Location would be critical and there are a lot of nice <br />properties here to work with. <br />Mr. Thelen responded that it is a long process but this gives everyone the opportunity to choose <br />the right location. <br />Case #2: Presentations by Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Community Based <br />Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) Contractor/Developer Teams <br />Deputy City Administrator Nelson stated there aze four firms here tonight to make presentations <br />to the City Council. She gave a brief update regarding what's been done thus far with regard to <br />the VA Clinic. <br />Representatives from JE Dunn, Kraus Anderson, PSD LLC and Knutson all introduced their <br />team, presented their proposals, and hosted a question and-answer period. <br />Case #3: Receive Ramsey Town Center Steering Committee Recommendations <br />Deputy City Administrator Nelson announced that Commissioner Jeffrey would take the lead on <br />this item as Chair for the Steering Committee. She noted that Brad Lano and Kris Williams from <br />the Steering Committee were also present. <br />Commissioner Jeffrey stated that the Committee met this morning. He disseminated a revised <br />set of recommendations from the Steering Committee and read them. <br />Chairperson Dehen stated that it appeazs the east side of the Town Center is the same but the <br />west side has changed to allow some big box development. <br />Commissioner Jeffrey stated that the recommendation is to give us more flexibility; we have to <br />start moving on land use changes. <br />Chairperson Dehen stated that his only concern is we had a plan.
