7.02: Ratification of Legal Services Agreement with Randall and Goodrich, P.L.C. <br />Councilmember Dehen left the Council Chambers due to a conflict of interest with regard to this <br />case. <br />Deputy City Administrator Nelson reviewed the staff report. <br />City Attorney Goodrich stated Mr. Dehen was not contracting with the City Council, but with his <br />firm. <br />Councilmember Jeffrey stated as long as all of the conflicts of interest have been dealt with, he <br />was fine with this arrangement. <br />City Attorney Goodrich stated the contract was made coming up on a year ago and there was not <br />the ability to change the fee. He had the responsibility under the contract to do the prosecuting <br />services and to retain the staff they needed. He stated he believed all of the conflict of interests <br />had been dealt with. He noted Mr. Dehen would not be doing any conditional premises <br />prosecution for the City. <br />Motion by Councilmember Jeffrey, seconded by Councilmember Elvig, to ratify the July 1, 2009 <br />legal services contract with. Randall and Goodrich, P.L.C. and to authorize Councilmember John <br />Dehen to work as an independent contractor for Randall and Goodrich, P.L.C. performing certain <br />City prosecution services under the said legal services contract and adopt Resolution #10-03-073 <br />to ratify a contract with an interested Councilmember. <br />A roll call vote was performed by the Recording Secretary: <br />Councilmember Dehen Absent <br />Councilmember Elvig aye <br />Councilmember Jeffrey aye <br />Councilmember Look aye <br />Councilmember McGlone aye <br />Councilmember Wise aye <br />Mayor Ramsey aye <br />Motion carried. <br />7.05: Introduce Ordinance to Amend Chapter 117 Article III to Require <br />Individual Services and Regulate the Platting of Individual Units in Multi- <br />Unit residential Dwellings in the City of Ramsey; Case of the City of Ramsey <br />Associate Planner Gladhill reviewed the staff report. <br />Motion by Councilmember Wise, seconded by Councilmember Elvig, to introduce the ordinance <br />to amend Chapter 117, Article III to require individual services and platting of individual lots in <br />certain multi-unit residential dwellings. <br />City Council /March 23, 2010 <br />Page 8 of 13 <br />
