Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for <br />its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #09-09-XXX <br />RESOLUTION AWARDING A CONTRACT FOR CITY PROJECT 08-32, <br />ANDRIE STREET AND 164TH LANE STREET IMPROVEMENTS <br />WHEREAS, on August 11, 2009 the Ramsey City Council authorized the solicitation of <br />bids from plans prepared by City staff; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for Improvement Project 08-32, <br />Andrie Street and 164t" Lane Street Improvements, bids were received, opened and tabulated <br />according to law; and <br />WHEREAS, the following is a summary of the bids that were received: <br />Contractor Base Bid Alternate (sidewalk) Total Bid <br />Engineers Estimate $1,270,756.50 $297,034.50 $1,567,791.00 <br />Rum River Contracting $896,701.22 $221,185.69 $1,117,886.91 <br />ASTECH Asphalt $993,239.96 $181,668.07 $1,174,908.03 <br />GMH Asphalt $969,508.91 $253,555.80 $1,223,064.71 <br />North Valley, Inc. $1,032,170.00 $203,311.27 $1,235,481.27 <br />Hardrives, Inc. $1,018,766.10 $260,882.33 $1,279,648.42 <br />Northwest Asphalt, Inc. $1,039,926.35 $253,963.90 $1,293,890.25 <br />C.S. McCrossan $1,040,486.85 $275,177.55 $1,315,664.40 <br />WHEREAS, Rum River Contracting, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br />1) That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with Rum River Contracting, Inc. for Improvement Project 08-32, Andrie Street <br />and 164t" Lane Street Improvements in the amount of $1,117,886.91, and <br />2) That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the <br />deposits made with their bids. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor <br />thereof: <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />and the following abstained: <br />RESOLUTION #10-04-XXX <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
