~~`- CQQI~ -PROPOSAL TO THE CITY OF RAIVISEY FOIE <br />' T~~I?IDS CONTRACT ELECTItYCAL INSPECTION SERVICES <br />a~roocsu~a <br />Qualifications <br />The City of Coon Rapids has an experienced Building IiYSpections division which includes a <br />Chief Building Of-Eicial, Plans Examiner, two permit technicians, four inspectors, including <br />specialists in plumbing and HVAC, and nvo contract electrical inspectors. <br />Scone of Services <br />The City of Coon Rapids proposed to provide the fallowing services. to the City of Ramsey: <br />• Residential and Commercial electrical inspections by a journeyman or master electrician _ <br />- Electrical plan review <br />- • Sc.hecit~ling ofii7spections in the LOGIS DIMS system <br />• Issuance of electrical permits for the City of Ramsey <br />• Ability to pa}' for permits using Visa.or MasterCard <br />• Potential for E-permitting of electrical, permits via LOGIS (E-permits are currently <br />limited to I-iVAC'or single opening permits, although future expansion of this service is <br />anticipated.) ~ - <br />• Monthly (and as-needed) inspection reports <br />• Inspection results entered into DIMS <br />Availability <br />The City of Coon Rapids will coordinate scheduling and availability to provide inspection <br />services during; regular business hours. We propose scheduling inspections in blocks of time, <br />based on derriand, to facilitate efficient travel between cities and timely inspections for clients. <br />Term of the Cantraet <br />The Cities ofRamsey and Coon Rapids will enter into a joint powers agreement for the provision <br />of electrical inspection services with terms agreeable to both Cities. - <br />Cost of Services and Billing NLethods <br />The City of Coon Rapids proposes retaining ninety percent of the permit and plan revie4v fees. <br />Payment for services will. be determined by a method and schedule agreed upon by the Cities. <br />Timing <br />The City of Coon Rapids currently contracts with t~vo licensed electricians for electrical <br />inspections services. If the City of Ramsey elects to contract «~ith the City of Coon Rapids to <br />provide electrical inspections services, the City of Coon Raapids at7ticipales hiring a full lime <br />electrical inspector in order to meet theinspection needs of both cities. In order to allow enough <br />time to hire an inspector and enter into a joint powers agreement, we expect to commence <br />inspecfiion services for the City of Ramsey no later than March 1.5, 2010. <br />##~ <br />
