Councilmember Dehen stated the position was important, but in his opinion, this was not afull- <br />time position and the Council should reallocate staff. <br />Councilmember Elvig expressed concern about how much more the Council could reallocate <br />staff when the City had already lain off six people in the past. <br />Mayor Ramsey believed there was staff that was able to react and, if necessary, some of the <br />duties could be outsourced. <br />Councilmember Wise believed this issue should be tabled to be brought to a future Council <br />worksession as this issue pertained to the City budget. <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Wise, to table this and bring it <br />back to Council worksession. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Ramsey, Councilmembers Elvig, Wise, Dehen, Jeffrey, <br />Look, and McGlone. Voting No: None. <br />7.10: Authorize Offers for Purchase of Properties Necessary for Extension of 152"a <br />Avenue to Helium Street -Portions of this case may be closed to the Public <br />City Engineer Himmer reviewed the staff report. <br />City Attorney Goodrich noted that this meeting can move into closed session to discuss the <br />purchase of properties (5566 1515 Avenue and 5545 151St Avenue) necessary for extension of <br />152"a Avenue to Helium Street. <br />Councilmember Jeffrey left the meeting at 8:47 p.m. <br />Motion by Councilmember Dehen, seconded by Councilmember McGlone, to move to closed <br />session. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Ramsey and Councilmembers Dehen, McGlone, Elvig, and <br />Look. Voting No: None. Absent: Councilmembers Wise and Jeffrey. <br />The Special Council meeting moved into a closed session at 8:48 p.m. <br />Motion by Councilmember Elvig, seconded by Councilmember Wise, to open the closed session. <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Ramsey and Councilmembers Elvig, Wise, Dehen, Look, <br />and McGlone. Voting No: None.
