I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br />,! <br /> <br />Councilmember Kurak stated that she would like to see the entire issue discussed with the new <br />Council in the near future. <br /> <br />Councilmember Elvig requested that staff put together a list of prior/ties and estimated costs <br />associated with each item. He stated that it was difficult to make decisions without out knowing <br />costs. <br /> <br />Principal City Engineer Olson stated that at this time the only infOrmation he could is that they' <br />really aren't going to know costs until they start implementing the program. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kurak inquired if the City currently had a topo map of the City. <br /> <br />Principal City Engineer Olson replied yes but only in a small area of the City.~ <br /> <br />Councilmember Kurak inquired if they could use that map for future development. <br /> <br />Principal City Engineer Olson replied that some cities will pay the up front cost for a topo and <br />then bill the cost back to the developers. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec replied that that would be a huge up front cost. He requested that staff identify <br />areas that the City is already doing that comply with the program and what the future goals are. <br /> <br />Principal City Engineer Olson noted that they don't want to identify goals that have quantities <br />attached to them because they can't predict how things are going to occur. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kurak inquired as to how long the goals were good for. <br /> <br />Principal City Engineer Olson replied forever, unless they are changed, He explained that the <br />information provided in the application permit is good for five years and every year the City is <br />required to report .things that have been done. to prove compliance. There is a real significant <br />amount of workload that will need to be identified. <br /> <br />Councilmember Kurak inquired if they would review the goals every five years for changes. <br /> <br />Principal City Engineer Olson replied, that it should be looked at on an annual basis. He stated <br />that he would report back to the City Council on February 28th with a better synopsis and <br />recommendations on how to proceed. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Kurak, seconded by Councilmember Strommen, to recommend that <br />the City Council authorize staff to prepare a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Program and <br />return to the City Council on February 28, 2003 for formal adoption. <br /> <br />Motion c amed. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, and Councilmembers Kurak, Strommen, Cook, <br />Elvig, Pearson, and Zimmerman.
