City of Ramsey 2010 Adopted <br />General Fund Budget <br />• EXPENDITURES <br />Categories of Expenditures <br />The following list is a summary of programs common to the City of Ramsey and most other cities. Each <br />category includes special services or activities. The types of expenses that aze included in each category can vary <br />from city to city. Expenditures generally found within each of these categories include those for salazies and costs <br />for benefits; basic operating expenses and capital outlay. <br />* General Government -Expenditures under the general government category include expenditures associated <br />with the following cost centers or activities: <br />Mayor and Council <br />Commissions (Charter, Planning, and Horse Caze) <br />Administration <br />Finance <br />Assessing <br />Legal Services <br />Planning and Zoning <br />Data Processing <br />General Govemment Buildings <br />Newsletter <br />* Public Safety -Expenditures under the public safety category include expenditures associated with the <br />following cost centers or activities: <br />Police Protection <br />• Fire Protection <br />Building Inspection <br />Civil Defense <br />Traffic Engineering <br />Animal Control <br />D.A.R.E.
