CASE # ~ , ~ ~ CONSIDER AUTHORIZATION OF IMPROVEMENT PROJECT #09-25 DYSPROSIUM STREET IMPROVEMENTS B.y: Steven J. Jankowski, Assistant City Engineer Background: This project was initiated at the direction of City Council and has involved the Council and its Public Works Committee beginning in April of 2009. Because a portion of the project cost is proposed to be special assessed, a waiting period of 60 days beyond the date of the public hearing must elapse as specified by Section 4.60.05 Sub.l of City Code prior to the Council ordering this project. This period expired on May 9, 2010.. Attachments • Resolution 10-OS-XXX ordering IP 09-25 Dysprosium Street Improvements • IP 09-25 Feasibility Study Revised Apri12010 Financing: The total project cost which includes new curb and gutter and pavement, sidewalk, storm sewer replacement and expansion, street lights and boulevazd trees is estimated to be $672,911. The City will fund $573,462 of this cost from its Municipal State Aid (MSA) account. The remaining $99,449 shall be funded through special assessments to property owners with frontage along the street consistent with previous Council direction. Recommendation:
